A Warm Welcome!

This website is currently being developed as an archive for current objective idealist research. The focus is on the works of Vittorio Hösle, arguably today's most prominent representative of this school of thought, whose writings, contributions, and recordings of his annual Summer Schools are to be made available in a collected format.

After the event series "Objective Idealism Today - Principles, Themes, Perspectives", which took place in 2025 in the form of discussions with Vittorio Hösle, a volume with the contributions including the discussions from the online lecture series and the conference is currently being edited. It will appear in book form with the Nomos Karl Alber publishing house as well as in open access form. The complete video recordings of the online lecture series and the conference will also be made available. For an overview of the contents, please have a look at the program of the Online Lecture Series and the Conference. We will announce the publication and upload date on this website.

The aim is to provide selected renowned international experts with a platform for a concentrated assessment of current insights and challenges of a renewed Objective Idealism (OI). In particular, the focus lies on its potential to offer scientifically and philosophically grounded knowledge for orientation in the face of international challenges, especially ecological issues such as the climate crisis. Given the global nature of these challenges and the absence of widely accepted legitimizing systems, the urgent question arises as to which philosophical approaches can provide meaningful answers to the pressing problems of our time. In this context, OI is worth considering as a complex, holistic, and particularly well-reflected approach in terms of its theoretical foundations.
